President Trump “Optimistic” About Coronavirus Vaccine
During a recent visit to west Texas, Trump made statements showing his optimism regarding a vaccine for COVID-19.
Trump, among others, are hopeful to have a vaccine before the end of 2020. Several potential vaccines are now in the third phases of trials-human testing, with positive results.
President Trump also stated that once a vaccine becomes available, he will take it.
“I would do it, yeah, I mean if I take it first they’ll say ‘he shouldn’t do it first,’ but if I take it last they’ll say ‘he shouldn’t take it last,’” Trump said.
For optimum widespread vaccination, several vaccines will need to make it past final trials and be proven to be safe and effective. Several countries are in the race to develop the first successful vaccine, including the U.S., the U.K., and Australia, among others.
