Pioneer Days Festival Set for October in Mississippi Hills

The Mississippi Hills Heritage and Folklife Festival is scheduled for October 22-24 in New Albany. The event offers visitors the chance to explore local traditions and crafts during a three-day celebration.

On Thursday and Friday, school groups can tour the festival, while Saturday is designated as family day. Attendees can participate in activities such as broom making, blacksmithing, spinning, and basket making, among others.

Contests with prizes for children will be held Saturday at noon. The event aims to showcase regional heritage and engage visitors of all ages, according to organizers.

Local media outlets including WTVA 9 News, NEmiss.news, the New Albany Gazette, and others are promoting the festival. Community organizations such as the New Albany Main Street Association and Union County 4-H are also supporting the event.
