Mississippi Disaster Service Center in Hancock County to Close Permanently Saturday

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency announced that the Disaster Service Center in Hancock County will close permanently at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Residents seeking assistance are encouraged to visit any of the other Disaster Service Centers in Harrison, Pearl River, or Stone counties before the Oct. 3 application deadline, according to the agency.

The closure marks the end of services at the Hancock County location, which was established to support residents affected by recent events. The agency did not specify the reason for the permanent shutdown.

Officials advise residents to plan accordingly and utilize the remaining centers for assistance before the deadline.
