Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill Scheduled for October 15
October 15 marks the Great ShakeOut, the world’s largest earthquake drill, scheduled to take place at 10:15 a.m. Local authorities and participants worldwide will drop, cover, and hold on during the simulation, aiming to improve earthquake preparedness.
While earthquakes are not the focus of this week’s Fall Severe Weather Preparedness Week, officials urge residents to be ready in case of a quake. The drill provides an opportunity for individuals and organizations to practice safety procedures.
