UCHS rescued over 600 animals in 2019 and looks to continue work in 2020
In 2019, Union County Humane Society rescued a whopping 620 animals and is continuing their work into the new year.
As of now, they currently have forty-two dogs and puppies in foster care which are available for adoption, as well as twelve cats. Four of these animals are special needs and require extra medical attention. One cat is recovering from hernia repair which accumulated a bill of close to $1000.00 (YOU CAN DONATE TO THE UCHS VIA PAYPAL HERE)

By the end of this month, they will have transported nineteen dogs and seven cats to other rescues in northern states. Three other animals have been adopted into local homes in Union County.
Union County Humane Society relies heavily on community donations to help animals in need. Without your help, they would not be able to continue their work rescuing animals in this area. Donations of food, puppy pads, and other dog supplies can be brought to:

One of their most pressing needs currently is sponsors for heartworm treatments! With TEN foster dogs testing positive for heartworms, the cost of their treatment really adds up. Sponsorship for one dog’s treatment is $100. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a sponsor for one of these beloved pups, please message the UCHS Facebook page. You can also find a Valentines tree at Tractor Supply with pictures and information on each dog in need of treatment.
One of the UCHS upcoming events this spring is their Shamrock Marathon Fundraiser, which is being organized by New Albany Main Street.
