Uber announced Tuesday it will offer free round-trip rides to and from open, state-approved evacuation shelters as part of its response to the approaching storm. The company said the promotion covers rides up to $40 each way.
To redeem the offer, users need to open the Uber app, tap “Account” in the bottom right corner, then select “Wallet.” They should scroll down to “+ Add Promo Code” and enter the code ISAIAS26. The discount can be applied to a maximum of two trips per account.
Uber noted that the promotion is valid only for rides requested through its app, and taxes, fees, and tips will be covered if the voucher exceeds the total ride cost. The offer is non-transferable and subject to change or cancellation, according to Uber.
Riders can request a ride to any of the shelters listed at www.msema.org/shelters-and-safe-rooms. Details on how to redeem the promotion were provided by Uber.
