Union County Heritage Museum Offers Clay Story Tile Workshop

The Union County Heritage Museum will host a clay workshop on September 28 at 4:30 p.m. Participants will learn to make story tiles with instructor Gail Morton, according to museum officials.

The class costs $65 per student, with all materials provided. Participants are asked to bring a photocopy or drawing of a reference photo measuring 8 by 10 inches, 8.5 by 11 inches, or 9 by 12 inches. The reference image should match the size of the final tile.

Participants will meet twice — once to create the tiles and again to glaze them. Both sessions will be held at the museum’s art house, located at 205 Faulkner Way in New Albany. Attendance is limited to individuals aged 11 and older.

Registration is open via an online form linked at https://forms.gle/PkPzKAnQgzSkBBDZ9, according to museum organizers. The workshop aims to encourage storytelling through ceramic art, officials added.
