Storm restoration efforts continue as crews make progress despite cold temperatures

Power crews have made steady progress in storm recovery efforts on day seven, despite extremely cold temperatures. According to updates, nearly 1,200 customers had power restored, bringing the total number of customers without power to approximately 3,500.

The outage figures are estimates intended to give a general sense of the situation, and the actual numbers may vary slightly. The workforce was expanded by 19 contracted workers who arrived around noon, with an additional four crew members expected from Guntersville, Alabama, overnight.

Plans call for about 30 more crew members from Water Valley to join the effort on Monday, increasing the workforce to over 200. Crews continue to operate across the service area, working from five substations to restore power as quickly as possible.

The restoration effort received community support from Watson Grove Baptist Church, which provided a meal for workers tonight. The team expressed gratitude for the hospitality and assistance during the ongoing recovery process.
