Oxford Archaeology Conference Accepts Submissions Through Feb. 16
The Southeastern Historical Archaeology Conference (SCHAC) in Oxford, Mississippi, is accepting submissions for its upcoming event. The conference welcomes faculty, students, archaeologists, CRM professionals, and retirees interested in historical archaeology in the region.
The event is designed as a low-stakes, collegial venue to promote professional exchange and networking across career stages. The submission deadline has been extended to Monday, Feb. 16, 2026. Organizers are seeking titles and 150-word abstracts for papers or posters highlighting recent or ongoing research.
The conference is scheduled for one day and is free to attend. Organizational membership for presenters costs $5. Attendees who do not present are encouraged to participate in the day of talks and posters. The event will feature an introduction to the Center for Archaeological Research by director Dr. Jesse Tune, a session on the ongoing Bioarchaeology Initiative, and a special tour of the Blues Archive at the University of Mississippi.
