Mississippi emergency management officials are encouraging residents to prepare for severe weather before it strikes as part of Fall Severe Weather Preparedness Week. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and local officials are collaborating with Lowe’s to host an educational event.

The event will take place Saturday, Oct. 17, at Lowe’s in Waveland, located at 9020 Highway 603. It will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees can learn how to prepare for storms and other emergencies while connecting with local preparedness officials and resources.
