Cyclists Making 500-Mile Journey to Florida Stop in New Albany
A group of 20 women cycling more than 500 miles to Florida will make a stop in New Albany this Saturday. The cyclists are participating in the She to Sea ride to raise awareness for cancer and support cancer research through the West Cancer Foundation.
The group plans to arrive at Cooper Park at 2 p.m., where community members are invited to join in welcoming them. The ride is part of a five-day effort, and this marks one of their stops along the route.
One rider, Ashley, a graduate of Blue Mountain College, is particularly excited to return to her community. Organizers encourage cancer survivors and community members to attend and show their support. They say the presence of local supporters will boost the riders’ morale as they continue their mission.
Community members are encouraged to attend and demonstrate support for the riders’ efforts. The event aims to unite the community in the fight against cancer and highlight local solidarity.
