Previously Cancelled 9/11 Lights Display Back On
An annual display on September 11th honoring the fallen victims from the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center has been reinstated.
This comes after news from a few days prior that the National September 11 Memorial & Museum canceled the Tribute in Light over concerns the coronavirus might spread among crews that would work to create the two pillars of light that represent the fallen towers.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo stated that the demonstration is incredibly important this year to remember the lives lost and heroism displayed “as New Yorkers are once again called upon to face a common enemy.”
Health officials have pledged to oversee the event to make sure all crew members are following COVID-19 safety guidelines.
