Youth Leadership Council Launches Comfort and Kindness Care Package Drive

Members of the Youth Leadership Council and Strategic Solutions for Families have announced a new community project aimed at providing comfort to vulnerable populations. The YLC Cares: Comfort & Kindness Project seeks donations of items to assemble care packages for individuals facing difficult circumstances, such as hospital patients, nursing home residents, shelter occupants, and children in need.

Organizers are calling on local churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals to contribute. They are accepting donations of personal care items, comfort essentials, activities, and school supplies. Examples include travel-size toiletries, socks, blankets, snacks, coloring books, and school supplies. All items should be new and unused, with packages assembled based on the needs of recipient organizations.

Community groups can participate in various ways, including sponsoring care packages, hosting donation drives, or donating individual items. Youth groups are encouraged to get involved by creating encouraging notes and assembling packages. The project aims to teach young people leadership through acts of kindness, organizers said.

Those interested in donating or partnering can contact Strategic Solutions for Families through their Facebook page. The initiative underscores the importance of community support and compassion, one care package at a time, the organizers added.
