The Wiggins Fire Department congratulated Probationary Firefighter Jacob Martin on successfully completing the Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations course. The training is one of the first major steps in a firefighter’s education, according to a department statement.
Completion of HazMat A&O is required before Martin can advance to basic firefighter training, where he will further develop skills needed to serve the community. The department noted that this is just the beginning of his ongoing training and certifications throughout his career.
Wiggins Fire Department expressed pride in Martin’s achievement and looked forward to watching his continued growth in the fire service.
