Union County Schools Announce Closure Due to Winter Storm

Union County school officials announced the district will be closed Monday and Tuesday as severe winter weather continues to affect the area.

School district officials cited hazardous road conditions, downed power lines, and ongoing power outages — with approximately 2,500 residents still without power — as reasons for the closures. Many affected residents are also employees of the district.

The district plans to resume normal operations on Wednesday, February 4, pending weather and road conditions. Bus routes are expected to run then, and the district will monitor the situation to ensure safety.

In a statement, district officials expressed understanding for any inconvenience caused by the closures and emphasized that safety remains their top priority. They encouraged community members to continue taking precautions and caring for one another during this challenging time.
