New Albany Fire Department Hosts Prom Promise Safety Event
Last week, the New Albany Fire Department, along with other emergency responders from Union County, hosted the 2026 Prom Promise for local juniors and seniors. The event aimed to educate young people about the consequences of poor decisions related to prom night and beyond.
Participants witnessed a simulated scenario involving actors portraying victims and family members. Photos captured during the event show first responders and actors involved in the staged incident. The simulation was graphic and realistic, though no injuries or fatalities occurred.
Organizers emphasized that the exercise was only a scenario and encouraged students to prioritize safety. They urged everyone to stay safe and make responsible choices during prom season and throughout the year.
