A multi-vehicle crash involving at least four semi-trucks has blocked eastbound Interstate 22 between New Albany and Myrtle, according to responders. The road was completely closed after a tractor-trailer was seen sideways in the middle of the interstate.
Rescue crews were dispatched but canceled the response after determining there were no injuries or entrapment. Authorities reported that vehicles were passing rescue personnel on the roadway before being stopped by the trucks, which were turned opposite traffic and blocking the roadway.
Motorists are urged to drive cautiously in the area and to stay alert for ongoing updates. There was no word on when the roadway will reopen.
