Lafayette County Begins MRE and Water Distribution

Residents of Lafayette County are advised that meal and water supplies are available at several distribution sites today. The distribution runs from noon to 4 p.m., or until supplies are exhausted, according to officials.

Each person is limited to three days’ worth of supplies to ensure equitable distribution. The sites include the Harmontown Sheriff’s Office Substation, Lafayette High School, Lafayette County Fire Station 3, and Oasis Church. In the city of Oxford, distribution points include City Hall, CB Webb, Wayne Johnson Thacker at Garden Terrace, and other locations.

Officials said the distribution is staffed by the National Guard, and residents are asked to be patient and respectful. Supplies are limited, and distribution will continue until the supplies are depleted, according to local authorities.
