Second graders at New Albany Elementary enjoy flexible seating options

Students in Amber Peters’ second-grade class at New Albany Elementary School are benefiting from new flexible seating options. The students are learning about how to optimize their learning environments while moving more throughout the day.

The bike desks were purchased through a school grant made possible by the Dean Provence Endowment for Excellence in Education. The new furniture aims to encourage active learning and improve student engagement.

Teachers and students are exploring ways to incorporate movement into the school day, supporting both academic and physical well-being. The initiative reflects a broader effort to create dynamic learning spaces in the district.
