Union County Concert Band earns top ratings at state evaluation

The Union County Concert Band received all Excellent ratings in both concert and sight-reading categories at the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) State Concert Evaluation, according to school officials.

This achievement is notable as it is the first time in the program’s history that the band performed as a Class 5A band at the evaluation, which is the highest classification for schools in Michigan.

The band also performed sight-reading level 4 music, further highlighting their skill and preparation, according to a school spokesperson. The accomplishment was celebrated by students and staff alike.
