New Albany Elementary Introduces Reading Bikes for Students
Students at New Albany Elementary School are now able to read while riding stationary bikes. The bikes are available during weekly library visits and aim to help students who need sensory input or movement breaks.
The initiative is funded through the Dean Provence Endowment for Excellence in Education’s classroom grant program. School officials say the bikes provide a unique opportunity for students to stay active while engaging with reading materials.
School administrators hope the bikes will support students’ sensory needs and enhance their learning experience. The program aligns with the district’s goal to incorporate innovative tools that promote both physical activity and literacy.
