Roads and bridges in north Mississippi are coated with ice, and conditions are expected to deteriorate further, according to the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
Officials urge residents to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. Those who must travel are advised to exercise extreme caution and carry emergency supplies in case they become stranded or slide off the road.
