Mississippi extends tax deadline for 49 counties to March 2026
Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves has signed a proclamation extending the deadline for residents in 49 counties to pay their ad valorem taxes. The new deadline is March 3, 2026, according to the proclamation.
The affected counties include Adams, Alcorn, Attala, Benton, Bolivar, Calhoun, Carroll, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Claiborne, Clarke, Clay, Coahoma, DeSoto, Grenada, Hinds, Holmes, Humphreys, Itawamba, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leake, Leflore, Lowndes, Marshall, Monroe, Montgomery, Newton, Oktibbeha, Panola, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Quitman, Rankin, Smith, Sharkey, Sunflower, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica, Union, Warren, Washington, Webster, Wilkinson, Yalobusha and Yazoo.
The proclamation also delays fines for late tax submissions in these counties, providing relief to residents affected by recent events, according to the governor’s office.
