Mississippi emergency officials assess winter storm impacts
Mississippi Emergency Management Agency Executive Director Stephen McCraney provided an update Tuesday on the severe winter weather that swept through the state.
McCraney said local officials are assessing the damage caused by the storm, which brought snow, ice, and freezing temperatures to much of Mississippi. He urged residents to remain cautious and stay informed as recovery efforts continue.
Authorities are monitoring road conditions and have deployed resources to assist communities in need. No major injuries or fatalities related to the storm have been reported, McCraney said.
The agency continues to coordinate with local agencies to ensure public safety and facilitate recovery efforts across affected areas.
