Mississippi Emergency Management Agency Launches Damage Reporting Tool

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) has launched a citizen self-reporting platform to collect information on storm damage across the state, according to a news release from the agency.

The online tool allows residents to report damage by county. MEMA emphasizes that the self-reporting links are not a replacement for 911 services. In case of immediate, life-threatening emergencies, residents are advised to call 911 directly.

The agency also clarified that submitting a damage report through the platform is not an application for financial assistance. The tool is intended solely for data collection to assess the extent of storm impact in different areas, MEMA said.

Details about the self-reporting links by county are available on MEMA’s website. The agency encourages residents to use the platform to help officials evaluate the storm’s effects and plan response efforts accordingly.
