Memphis Astronomical Society hosts free astronomy night at Ingomar Mounds
The Memphis Astronomical Society will host a free astronomy night at Ingomar Mounds on March 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., according to organizers.
Participants will have the opportunity to view the Moon, Jupiter, and deep sky objects through telescopes. Attendees are encouraged to bring binoculars or telescopes but are not required to participate.
The event will take place at Ingomar Mounds, located at 1113 CR 96 in New Albany, Mississippi. All visitors must sign a liability waiver upon entry, organizers said.
If weather conditions prevent the event from taking place on March 6, a rain date has been scheduled for March 12, according to the Memphis Astronomical Society.
For more information or to sign up, interested individuals can visit the society’s online form. The event aims to promote public interest in astronomy and science education.
