Local Emergency Services Prepare for Potential Crisis

Emergency services in the town have completed their preparations for an anticipated event, with equipment serviced and in place, according to local officials.

Reflecting on the 1994 incident, officials expressed concerns and urged residents to remain vigilant and prepared for whatever may come. They advised the community to be smart, caring, and supportive of neighbors during challenging times.

Authorities emphasized that responders may need to be away from their families for extended periods and asked residents not to take frustrations out on police, fire, or utility personnel. They encouraged residents to call emergency numbers if needed, including 662-534-4711, 662-534-1000, and 662-534-6514.

Officials also noted that communication via social media might not result in immediate responses, and they will do their best to connect residents with the appropriate services. They stressed the importance of basic fire safety measures, such as working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, safe heating practices, and caution in icy conditions.
