Ice Reports Spread Across 14 Mississippi Counties, MDOT Advises Caution

Ice has been reported on roads and bridges in 14 counties across Mississippi as of 8:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the Mississippi Department of Transportation.

The reports involve state-maintained roads, including interstates and highways, but do not cover local roads. The affected counties are Alcorn, Benton, Bolivar, Coahoma, DeSoto, Lafayette, Leflore, Marshall, Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, and Tunica.

MDOT officials recommend that motorists only travel if necessary and exercise extreme caution. They also advise giving MDOT crews space as they work to clear winter conditions. Drivers are encouraged to check live road conditions via the MDOT Traffic app or the agency’s website.
