Great American Clean Up Day postponed to March 28 due to rain forecast
New Albany’s Great American Clean Up Day has been postponed to March 28 because of forecasted rain, according to organizers. The event, originally scheduled for this Saturday, is a partnership between New Albany Main Street, Keep Mississippi Beautiful, and Keep New Albany Beautiful.
The cleanup effort aims to preserve the appearance of downtown New Albany, Union County, and surrounding neighborhoods. Volunteers typically meet at the Union County Heritage Museum at 9 a.m. to pick up supplies before heading to parks, streets, and public spaces to pick up litter and refresh key areas.
The event mobilizes local businesses, civic groups, students, churches, families, and individuals to promote environmental stewardship and community pride. Those interested in participating can register by emailing visitnewalbany@gmail.com. Additional information about local beautification programs is available at visitnewalbany.com/keepnabeautiful and newalbanymainstreet.com.
